Hot ! Ini Bukti Kadar Jenayah Terus Meningkat?

LAGI......Perompak gagal larikan mesin ATM di Jeram

SHAH ALAM 17 Jun - Polis hari ini mengesahkan terdapat cubaan untuk memecah sebuah mesin ATM di cawangan Agro Bank di Taman Sungai Yu pekan Sungai Buloh, Jeram, Kuala Selangor awal pagi tadi.

Ketua Polis Daerah Kuala Selangor, Supritendan Mohd.

BOTCHED ATTEMPT: Gang unable to load machine onto lorry because of its weight

KUANTAN: LIKE a daring stunt in a Hollywood movie, five men used a one-tonne lorry to pull out an automated teller machine (ATM) from a bank at Indera Mahkota 5, here, at 3.30am yesterday.

However, they were unable to load the ATM onto the lorry because of its weight.

A passer-by, who witnessed the incident, called the police.
Although the suspects managed to flee in the lorry, quick action by police led to their arrest at a nearby mosque half an hour later.

An accomplice was picked up at a restaurant here less than an hour after the arrest.

The passer-by, who wanted to be known only as Helmy, said he was on his way home when he saw the suspects trying to lift the machine onto the lorry.

"They yelled at me when they saw me. I called the police but the suspects were already gone when the police arrived.

"The ATM was left on the road," he said at the scene yesterday.

State Criminal Investigation Department chief Senior Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zakaria Ahmad said initial investigations showed that the suspects, aged between 22 and 34, were also involved in a similar ATM theft in Bukit Goh, near here, recently.

"One of them was on our wanted list as he was the head of the Jivah gang, which was involved in several house break-ins and robberies.

"The other suspects also have criminal records, in drug-related cases and robberies," he said yesterday.
Zakaria added that the suspects had earlier stolen the lorry, which was parked behind a furniture shop here, before they forced open the glass doors of the bank where the ATM and other similar machines were located.

The suspects then tied one of the machines with a steel cable before pulling it out of the premises with the lorry.
Apart from the steel cable, Zakaria said police also found a hammer, face masks and hand gloves.

He added that cash, about RM72,000, inside the ATM, was found intact.

- Bernama
